This community has been very quiet for a very long time but I wanted to share this article I was reading about the theory of supersymmetry and how it relates to other factors of physics, string theory and otherwise.

My favorite quote from it is probably “It’s such a great idea, it probably has to be true,”

It's from March, but it also references the return of the LHC, which broke its own record on April 9th and also didn't create any black holes that will swallow the earth while doing it.

This is about a day late, but scientists at CERN believe they may have had the very first glimpses of the Higgs Boson.

The article doesn't make direct mention of what this would mean for string theory, only what it means in regards to the Standard Model without mention of the relationship between the two.
